Our Client is a Polish travel multiagent that was founded in 2001. The company offers a wide range of travel services, including flights, hotels, package tours, cruises, and travel insurance, both for individual customers and groups. It is part of the international Group with entities in Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. 
  
PROJECT
Data team is an international Scrum team which works on the core system, critical for company’s success. It is responsible for processing, transforming and storing data from multiple sources (including dozens of tour operators) and exposing it for searching and viewing purposes.
As system’s architecture constantly evolves we’re now introducing upgraded approach for batch data processing, moving it to industry standard tools like Apache Beam/Spark.  

Who are we looking for?

• An enthusiastic, seasoned engineer with experience in at least one JVM language (ideally Java or Scala) devoted to constant learning and open to experiment with new approaches with no fear of failure in friendly and supporting environment.
• We seek for a partner who would join data team and bring knowledge and enthusiasm on the board, willing to share experience and ideas.
• A person with creative mindset, interested in learning travel industry domain while working on complex system providing services in 7 European countries.

 
Your responsibilities

• Development of in-company data system in Scala/ZIO technologies
• Being active part of constant system’s architecture evolution
• End-to-end responsibility for work items (from involvement in requirement technical analysis up to production release)
• Cooperation in international, Scrum team

Our requirements

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on working experience with JVM language
• Knowledge of data structures
• Knowledge of design patterns and practical usage of SOLID
• Hands-on experience in working with REST APIs
• Very good collaboration and problem solving skills
• Knowledge of relational databases
• Good English and Polish communication skills
• Willingness to constantly learn and develop new skills (especially in Scala)

Nice to have

• Practical knowledge of Big Data topics
• Practical knowledge of Scala
• Practical knowledge of NoSQL databases
• Practical knowledge of Kubernetes
