Our client is specialising in sports nutrition - business based in the UK which has ambitions to continue its current success across Europe through expansion and the construction of a new Production facility in Poland.
As a result we are looking for a driven and ambitious Assistant Accountant to join the Poland Finance team, reporting directly to the Polish Accountant. You will play a key part in the daily Finance functions within the branch providing support to the business with Polish expertise in Compliance and Accounting. Salary: 4000zł - 5000zł gross
Key Accountabilities:
Accounting
- Reviewing and Monitoring the general ledger for all costs associated with the Poland branch
- Ensure FX rates are updated on a daily basis inline with Polish regulations
- Maintain the fixed asset register and post monthly depreciation journals
- Perform month end closing duties including accruals, prepayments and journals as required
- Produce weekly inventory reporting to ensure product costings are correctly stated and well controlled
- Assist Poland Accountant with yearly branch accounts ensuring accounts are inline with Polish Accounting Standards
- Support Poland Accountant with yearly Polish tax submissions
Compliance and Controls
- Ownership of the monthly
- VDEK Vat returns including, preparation of data, compiling all required documentation and liaising with vat advisors
- Ensure Poland branch is compliant with all legal and fiscal requirements
- Maintain accounting system to ensure customs declarations are in line with Polish requirements
- Provide training on Purchase Order process to Polish employees when required
- Review weekly payment runs to ensure suppliers are paid correctly and on-time
- Support Poland Accountant with monitoring of Financial internal controls and contribute to improving current processes
Payroll
- Perform Poland Payroll review and post journals on a monthly basis
- Process and pay all Polish employee expenses
- Raise Payroll payments on the bank
- Assist Poland employees with any Payroll queries
Requirements
- University degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance required
- At least 2 years experience working within a production business would be beneficial
- Experience in complying and producing monthly Poland VAT and intrastat reports essential
- Strong excel capabilities required including Vlookups and pivot tables
- Confident in the English language required
- Analytically minded with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to work dynamically and efficiently to meet strict deadlines, and be driven by hitting company targets
- Knowledge of Sage 200 would be an advantage but not essential as training will be provided
