Our client is specialising in sports nutrition - business based in the UK which has ambitions to continue its current success across Europe through expansion and the construction of a new Production facility in Poland.

As a result we are looking for a driven and ambitious Assistant Accountant to join the Poland Finance team, reporting directly to the Polish Accountant. You will play a key part in the daily Finance functions within the branch providing support to the business with Polish expertise in Compliance and Accounting. Salary: 4000zł - 5000zł gross

Key Accountabilities:

Accounting

• Reviewing and Monitoring the general ledger for all costs associated with the Poland branch
• Ensure FX rates are updated on a daily basis inline with Polish regulations
• Maintain the fixed asset register and post monthly depreciation journals
• Perform month end closing duties including accruals, prepayments and journals as required
• Produce weekly inventory reporting to ensure product costings are correctly stated and well controlled
• Assist Poland Accountant with yearly branch accounts ensuring accounts are inline with Polish Accounting Standards
• Support Poland Accountant with yearly Polish tax submissions

Compliance and Controls

• Ownership of the monthly
• VDEK Vat returns including, preparation of data, compiling all required documentation and liaising with vat advisors
• Ensure Poland branch is compliant with all legal and fiscal requirements
• Maintain accounting system to ensure customs declarations are in line with Polish requirements
• Provide training on Purchase Order process to Polish employees when required
• Review weekly payment runs to ensure suppliers are paid correctly and on-time
• Support Poland Accountant with monitoring of Financial internal controls and contribute to improving current processes

Payroll

• Perform Poland Payroll review and post journals on a monthly basis
• Process and pay all Polish employee expenses
• Raise Payroll payments on the bank
• Assist Poland employees with any Payroll queries

Requirements

• University degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance required
• At least 2 years experience working within a production business would be beneficial
• Experience in complying and producing monthly Poland VAT and intrastat reports essential
• Strong excel capabilities required including Vlookups and pivot tables
• Confident in the English language required
• Analytically minded with a keen eye for detail
• Ability to work dynamically and efficiently to meet strict deadlines, and be driven by hitting company targets
• Knowledge of Sage 200 would be an advantage but not essential as training will be provided
