We are looking for a Financial Controller for Polish branch office - an international nutritional and dietary supplement manufacturing company - to manage the finance team there and lead the business on accounting, tax, inventory reporting and financial control across our Poland operations.
As Financial Controller Poland you will be a key, senior stakeholder for Poland and will be responsible for
implementing the best practice we have in the UK into the local operations and overseeing the branch office as the
business continues to see rapid European growth.
Main tasks:
Team & Leadership
- Take ownership of the Poland finance team
- Recruit and grow a team capable of adding value and insight to stakeholders in all areas of the company
- Lead the business in the implementation and management of compliance of Polish accounting, banking,
- VAT, CIT, customs, IC reporting.
- Take a key local management role in the Poland office, leading on cross-function projects and liaising
- closely with the UK team
Accounting
- Manage monthly PL reporting timetable ensuring accurate and timely reporting to Financial Controller
- Ownership and accountability for the preparation of PL financial reporting including P&L, Balance Sheet
- and Cash flow statements, with little to no variance to audited accounts
- Lead the completion of the annual accounts and CIT computation, liaising with external auditors where required
- Ensure that the financial reporting processes are in accordance with both Polish GAAP and FRS 102
- Computate and submit monthly VDEK VAT workings for Poland, working with external parties on any
- queries and ensuring 100% document completeness
Financial Operations and Control
- Protect company assets by establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls
- Manage the Poland finance function, comprising of AP, AR, cash management and accounting
- Ensure that sales and purchase ledgers are maintained and that aged balances are investigated and
- rectified
- Working alongside the Financial Controller to ensure that regulatory financial requirements and reporting
- deadlines are met
- Ensure Financial stock controls are in place, adhered to and valuations is accurate and reconciled
- Monitor stock movements within the business on a weekly basis and enforce adherence to internal
- processes and controls where necessary
- Review and improve systematic processes to ensure controls are well maintained and inline with company policies
Ideal Candidate Specification:
- Experience in an accounting function, preferably with some ecommerce and/or manufacturing exposure
- CIMA/ACA/ACCA qualified
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to create and continually improve financial models
- A self-starter, capable of managing multiple priorities with a range of stakeholders and proactively seek to improve
- themselves and their team
- Highly organised with enough flexibility to adjust, as required to a rapidly changing environment
- Ability to break down large data sets into clear and concise conclusions to provide senior management
